Abstract

This study came under the title of (The Geo-Economic Dimension of the Russian Presence in Syria), and dealt with the concept of geo-economics and its importance in contemporary studies, as well as dealing with the geographical location of Syria and its importance in Russian foreign policy. The study also tried to identify the motives and dimensions of the Russian presence in Syria, and to strengthen this presence after the crisis in Syria 2011, where the study shows that the Russian presence came to confirm the new role that Russia plays in the international arena as an influential force in international relations, and the focus was on the geo-economic dimension represented by Russian energy security, as Syria is the center for collecting a number of competing projects for Russian energy supplies to Europe, and in the circle, the study found that the site Syria is of geo-economic importance that strongly influenced Russia's behavior towards it, and that Russia achieved its benefits from this presence
